Technology specialist Acal has bought German communication and fibre optic component provider CompoTRON for up to £7.1m.An initial cash consideration of £5.7m will be followed by another £1.4m in January 2013, subject to the company meeting performance targets. CompoTRON made £0.8m in 2009.Veterinary products group Dechra Pharmaceuticals says revenue for the first half ended December was around 4% higher than the year before, as its European and US divisions saw a turnover growth of 5.6% and 18.7%, respectively. The integration of acquired businesses - Genitrix and DermaPet - into the group is proceeding to plan."The trading performance of the group has continued to be resilient in testing economic conditions. The two acquisitions made during the period are in line with our strategy to develop our international veterinary pharmaceuticals business," the firm says.Sales awards for energy industry consultant KBC Advanced Technologies have increased by 22% to £68m for the year, and the consequent workload backlog at the period-end was £58m, 42% higher than 2009.The largest single item contributing to growth is the six site $42m Profit Improvement Program awarded by oil-derived products processor Pemex Refinación in Mexico in October.Marketing services company Work Group expects 2010 results to be in line with expectations, with net fee income rising by 15% to £12.5m. The Talent Management business largely contributed to this growth, with net fee income growing 36% to £7m.However, the communications businesses in the UK saw net fee income drop by 4%, "attributed to a collapse in communications expenditure from the public sector".
