LONDON (Dow Jones)--Shareholders in Prudential PLC (PRU.LN) are expected to meet this week to assess sentiment towards the U.K. insurer's senior management, including the possibility of calling for the resignation of Chairman Harvey McGrath, The Independent on Sunday reports. McGrath and senior independent director James Ross have met with most of the company's largest shareholders. Prudential has faced a backlash from some shareholders over its failed $35.5 billion acquisition of American International Group Inc.'s (AIG) Asian unit, which cost GBP450 million. One shareholder that met with Prudential last week said, "It was a pretty feisty exchange but the overriding sense was of utter denial from the company's senior management," the paper said.
