International service company Serco Group has been chosen by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection as the preferred bidder to continue providing detainee facilities in Australia. The FTSE 250-listed company said commercial negotiations and the procurement process are ongoing and were anticipated to be concluded in the next few months, and that depending on the success of those negotiations a new contract will be entered into.A further announcement will be made at a later date, it added.
