LONDON (Dow Jones)--Aerospace engineer Senior PLC (SNR.LN) Monday reported a 43% rise in first-half pretax profit, attributed to a pick-up in sales and the benefits of cost-savings, and said it expects full-year earnings to better market expectations. Senior, which raised its dividend 11% to 1 pence a share, said it expects 2010 pretax profit excluding certain items to be ahead of consensus forecasts of GBP55.6 million. It added it is seeking acquisitions. Senior reported a pretax profit of GBP30.2 million for the six months to June 30, compared with a profit of GBP21.1 million a year earlier. Revenue increased 4.3% to GBP287.7 million. -By Jason Douglas, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9272; [email protected] Order free Annual Report for Senior plc Visit http://djnweurope.ar.wilink.com/?ticker=GB0007958233 or call +44 (0)208 391 6028 (END) Dow Jones Newswires August 02, 2010 02:42 ET (06:42 GMT)
