(Sharecast News) - Budget carrier Ryanair said on Tuesday that it had carried a new record of 21m passengers during August, up 2% year-on-year on last year's 20.5m.

Ryanair, which operated over 114,000 flights in August, also said load factor, the proportion of seats filled on flights, was unchanged at 96%.

For the rolling twelve months ended 31 August, the Dublin-based airline said guest numbers were up 6% at 203.6m, while load factor was flat at 94%.

As of 0940 BST, Ryanair shares were down 1.11% at €24.84 each.
