(Sharecast News) - R&Q Insurance Holdings announced the retirement of Alan Quilter, its group head of programme management, on Tuesday.

The AIM-traded firm first flagged his retirement on 31 March last year, with Quilter retiring from his position and the board on 31 December.

It said Quilter would continue to contribute to the company in an advisory capacity for an unspecified period.

"It is over 30 years since Alan co-founded R&Q and he has been instrumental in the group's history," said chairman Jeff Hayman.

"During his tenure at R&Q, Alan has held a range of roles, including CFO and CEO.

"More recently, he has been central in the successful growth of Accredited as it developed into a leading global programme manager."

At 1502 GMT, shares in R&Q Insurance Holdings were up 2.65% at 10.5p.
