Transport group Rotala welcomes the investigation of the bus industry by the Competition Commission and said it plans to participate fully in its deliberations. It said the investigation provides operators with an opportunity to air their views and experiences in a forum which is independent of the bus sector itself or its industry representatives. 'We have said before, and we would repeat, that, in our opinion, the bus sector is indeed subject to certain anti-competitive practices,' the group said.'It is our expectation that the report of the Competition Commission, when it is delivered in some eighteen months to two years' time, will highlight certain issues of relevance to our businesses.''If Government deals with these issues in a satisfactory manner, we, as we have remarked before, would expect benefits to flow to our operations both in the West Midlands and in South West England,' it added.
