Recruitment company Robert Walters now expects to achieve break-even or a small profit before tax for 2009.'This is as a consequence of the continued management of the group's cost base and a slight improvement in trading conditions,' read a short statement Tuesday.In October, the group said net fee income slumped by 29% in the third quarter, but it reported some improvements, especially in banking and in Asia, though visibility overall remained limited. Two months earlier, it had revealed an interim loss to June of £2.6m, against a profit of £9.8m the year before, as net fee income fell to £50m from £71.7m.
