LONDON (Dow Jones)--U.K. provider of educational products and services RM PLC (RM.LN) Wednesday said it has secured a GBP29 million Building Schools for the Future, or BSF, contract, just two weeks after it said GBP200 million of future revenue is under threat from cuts to schools spending by the U.K. government. The firm said its negotiations with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to provide its BSF program with managed ICT services were already "substantially complete" when the U.K. Department for Education stopped the BSF program earlier this month. RM had previously announced that it had been appointed selected bidder for the six and a half year program, which will see it provide in-school hardware, networking and communications services and day-to-day management and support. It will also offer its Kaleidos learning platform, identity management services, and a full continuing professional development program. It said none of the schools involved in Stoke's BSF project were affected by the government's review of the BSF scheme after its emergency budget, in which it announced swathing spending cuts. -By Hannah Benjamin, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9298; [email protected] (END) Dow Jones Newswires July 21, 2010 04:57 ET (08:57 GMT)
