SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--Iron ore production by Rio Tinto Ltd. (RIO.AU) fell 2% in the second quarter of 2010 compared with the same period last year, but improved 1% from the first three months of the year, to 43.6 million metric tons, the company said Wednesday. In a second quarter operations review, Rio said hard coking coal production grew 26% on the same period last year, and 29% on the first quarter, to 2.4 million tons.
