International financial services group Prudential has appointed Barry Stowe as chairman and chief executive of its North American business.Stowe, who was previously in charge of Prudential Corporation Asia will replace Mike Wells, who began his new role as group CEO on 1 June."Barry has played a huge role in the remarkable success of our Asian operations and I am sure that under his leadership, our North American businesses will continue to strengthen," said Wells.Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 group added that its investment director, John Foley, has taken over as interim group chief risk officer following the departure of Pierre-Olivier Bouée and will continue in the role until a permanent successor is found.Prudential shares were down 1.48% to 1,603.00p at 11:31 on Monday.
