(Sharecast News) - Shares in Plus500 jumped on Monday, after the fintech said full-year earnings were on track to beat market expectations following a bumper third quarter.
The FTSE 250 firm saw revenue rise 11% in the three months to 30 September to $203.2m, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation sparked 7% at $88.4m.
New customers increased by 27% during the period. Average revenue per user was up 7% at $1,700, while average user acquisition costs fell 14% to $1,150.
David Zruia, chief executive, said: "Plus500 has delivered significant strategic and operational progress in the third quarter and throughout 2026, underpinning strong financial results.
"We expanded our global reach and product suite, which continued to attract increasing numbers of higher-value customers."
Zruia also pointed to Plus500's ongoing global expansion, including the acquisition of two broker-dealers in the US and Brazil.
"In the US, Hedge will unlock access to SEC-regulated markets, supporting the planned launch of a new, multi-asset super-app in the first quarter of 2027," he said. "Guru will establish Plus500's first local operations in Brazil, enabling the group to begin onboarding customers and extend its presence across Latin America."
As a result of the strong quarter, the trading platform now expects both revenues and EBITDA for the full-year to come in ahead of market forecasts. Consensus is currently for EBITDA of $358m on revenues of $837.6m.
The update buoyed the shares, and the stock was trading 4% higher at 3,426p as at 0915 GMT.
