(Sharecast News) - Gold miner Petropavlovsk appointed Malay Mukherjee to its board on Monday, with the Arcelor Mittal veteran joining the firm as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Mukherjee, who is also the lead independent non-executive director of India's JSW Steel, will become a member of all of Petropavlovsk's board committees, including the audit committee.

Elsewhere, the FTSE 250-listed group said non-executive director Katia Ray had informed the board that for personal reasons she was unable to continue as a board member and stood down from the role.

Chairman James Cameron said: "We look forward to further appointments as we focus on providing robust and transparent governance that will command the trust and support of all stakeholders."

As of 0910 BST, Petropavlovsk shares were up 2.56% at 31.90p.
