Petrofac wins North Sea rigs gig

Support services behemoth Petrofac has been awarded two North Sea contracts by GDF Suez E&P UK.The contracts are valued at £30m and cover a three-year period, with an optional two-year extension.From August 2011, Petrofac will provide operations, maintenance, engineering and general support services to GDF Suez E&P UK in the development of its own capabilities in the UK continental shelf (UKCS). Petrofac will be supplying all offshore personnel and significant onshore support, creating an estimated 100 new jobs in the North Sea over the next five years.The contracts represent Petrofac's first with GDF Suez E&P UK in the UKCS.
