Petrofac wins engineering and procurement contract

Petrofac has secured an engineering and procurement contract with Petroleum Development Oman to provide services for its Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP).The company will also provide construction and management support services for the start-up of the integrated oil and sour gas facility, located in the Harweel Cluster of fields in the south of the Sultanate of Oman. The RHIP facility will handle the production of oil and gas from the Harweel oil reservoirs and the production of gas with condensate from the Rabab reservoir.The facility will deliver peak export of 4.9 mega standard cubic metres per day (MMsm3/d) of sweet gas and 9,700 cubic metres per day of condensate in addition to about 16 MMsm3/d of high pressure sour injection. The four-and-a-half-year contract is worth around $1bn with about one quarter of the revenues relating to professional services.Craig Muir, Managing Director for Petrofac's Engineering & Consulting Services business, said: "This contract is a key milestone in the development of our EPCm delivery strategy within ECS.
