Petrofac wins $280m Indonesian contract

Big contracts continue to roll in at Petrofac with the fabrications group now chosen to develop the SEPAT offshore early production system on the East coast of Peninsular Malaysia.Petronas Carigali has awarded Petrofac the contract, which is worth approximately $280m. First oil is expected before the end of 2011. Petrofac will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) for the full scope of the early production system in a water depth of approximately 65 metres. These facilities mirror those of the Cendor phase I development, which was built by Petrofac for Petronas.In October, Petrofac picked up a $250m fabrication contract in the UAE and last week started work on the second phase of the South Yoloten project for Turkmengas, the state-owned national gas company of Turkmenistan, worth $3.4bn.
