Petrofac said it has won a 1.2bn pound contract from BP to build a gas processing facility in Oman.This contract has been awarded on a convertible lump sum basis and will convert to a full lump sum contract at a pre-determined point during execution, the oil and gas services firm said. The work will include engineering, procurement and construction of the processing facility at Oman's Khazzan field. The project is expected to be completed in 2017. Subramanian Sarma, Managing Director of Petrofac's onshore engineering and construction business said this was the eighth contract the company had won in Oman and followed its recent award of the $2.1bn Sohar refinery improvement project in November.FP
