(ShareCast News) - Multimedia, processor and communications technology company Imagination Technologies Group announced on Tuesday it has appointed Peter Hill CBE as non-executive chairman with effect from 1 February 2017, with him joining the board on 1 January.The London-listed firm said Peter is currently non-executive chairman of Keller Group and Volution Group, and a non-executive director of Essentra.Previously he was non-executive chairman of Alent, a supplier of specialty chemicals to the electronics and other industries, from 2012 to the end of 2015, and was the chief executive of Laird, the global provider of device management and wireless systems for the electronics industry, from 2002 to 2011.It said he has been a non-executive director on the boards of Cookson, the aerospace and defence group Meggitt and the high technology group Oxford Instruments, and was a non-executive Board Member of UK Trade and Investment.Imagination's current Chairman, Bert Nordberg, is stepping down to devote his time to his other significant roles, the board said, having successfully overseen the change in executive leadership with the appointments of Andrew Heath as chief executive and Guy Millward as chief financial officer."I am delighted that someone of Peter's calibre and experience is taking over as chairman," said chairman Bert Nordberg."His significant leadership credentials and knowledge of our end-user markets will be extremely valuable to the business as it starts to implement the refreshed strategy, after a period of extensive restructuring."I wish him and the business well for the future."
