Oil Industry To Form Accident Group Following BP Spill

BRUSSELS (Dow Jones)--Oil and gas companies Wednesday said they will form a group to respond to major accidents in the aftermath of the catastrophic explosion and oil leak from a BP PLC's (BP) drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico. After meeting with the European Commission, the EU's executive arm, on Wednesday, the industry said the group would focus on spreading "lessons learned" to the industry once investigations into what caused the leak from BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig are final, according to a statement from the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers.
