Soft drinks group Nichols' chief executive John Nichols is bullish on the company's prospects for 2010 following a strong start to the year.Following a strong year in 2009, momentum at the Vimto maker has continued into the current year.'Sales in the new financial year, despite strong comparatives, are well ahead of last year and our own internal expectations,' he was due to say at the company's annual meeting today.'In the UK, turnover is significantly up and we have out-performed the market as a whole - continuing to improve our market share.'Sales of the new Vimto Cherry drink have exceeded initial projections, he said.
