National Grid to provide focus with single UK executive director

National Grid has announced that John Pettigrew will be its sole UK Executive Director in order to "provide a single focus to manage a challenging UK operational agenda". Pettigrew became an Executive Director at the beginning of April, having previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer of UK Operations since July 2012. Former Executive Director Nick Winser formerly stepped down from the board on July 28th. He is continuing as President of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity and as Chairman of National Grid Electricity Transmission and National Grid Gas for another year.
