Baby products retailer Mothercare saw a 4.2% rise in like-for-like sales in the 13 weeks to January 8 after a strong Christmas.Total sales were up by 4.6%, with the UK seeing a 2.5% rise, international sales up by 9.3% and home delivery division Mothercare Direct seeing a 19.5% jump.In the financial year to date, total sales have climbed by 6.6%, with UK like-for-like sales up by 4.1% and total UK sales up 2.2%.'Our multi-channel UK business enjoyed a particularly good Christmas, recording positive like-for-like sales growth for the 18th consecutive quarter with strong contributions from the Early Learning Centre and Direct,' said chief executive Ben Gordon.Mothercare now operates 1,111 stores, 394 in the UK and 717 overseas.
