Baby goods retailer Mothercare has confirmed that its interim boss and former Next director Mark Newton-Jones is to be made the permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Jones, who will assume the role on July 17th, was previously CEO of Shop Direct Group, an internet and home shopping businesses, for 10 years. Mothercare Chairman Alan Parker said Newton-Jones had made a "substantial difference" to the UK business in the four months he has been with firm as interim CEO.Newton-Jones said: "Mothercare and Early Learning Centre are two iconic UK retail brands which have both developed into significant international businesses, serving parents and young children in 60 countries."As of 12:51 the share price had dropped 1.2% to 265.25p.WS
