Morrisons appoints Proctor & Gamble MD as director

Wm Morrison Supermarkets has appointed Irwin Lee, currently head of Proctor & Gamble's UK, Ireland and Nordics business, as a non-executive Director.Lee will take up his new position on 1 September 2015.Morrisons chairman Andrew Higginson said: "Irwin will bring his huge experience in the consumer goods industry, a deep understanding of the UK grocery market and an excellent track record of leadership at one of our largest suppliers."Lee, whose current title at P&G is vice president and managing director for Procter & Gamble Northern Europe, added that he was looking forward to "making a contribution, as a member of the board, to the turnaround of the company".He will retire in August after 30 years at the company.
