2218 GMT [Dow Jones] Despite PM Julia Gillard's truce with the mining sector last week over advertising over the mining tax, tensions still simmering with reports that if there's no progress made by as soon as the end of this week, the open dispute could be back on. The Australian newspaper quotes senior government members as saying that "real progress is being made" and closed-door talks are set to resume between ministers and miners tomorrow. Meanwhile, the AFR and the Age say that the mining industry has warned that the government faces another hostile advertising campaign if there's no deal within two weeks. Gillard has said she wants a speedy resolution to new talks. ([email protected]) Contact us in Singapore. 65 64154 140; [email protected] (END) Dow Jones Newswires June 28, 2010 18:18 ET (22:18 GMT)
