MARKET TALK: AgBank Leads HK Short Sales Midday

0617 GMT [Dow Jones] HK short-selling volume +17.6% at HK$1.449 billion midday, as percentage of market total at 4.3%, tad higher than 4.1% at Thursday's half-day, although such ratio would be higher at 5.7% if Agricultural Bank of China's (1288.HK) volume taken out of total trading volume, but even such higher ratio is benign, suggesting calm HK investor sentiment despite AgBank's lackluster debut. AgBank tops short-selling with HK$253.44 million, followed by China Mobile (0941.HK) with HK$103.87 million; then come Cnooc (0883.HK) with HK$70.72 million, HSBC (0005.HK) with HK$63.16 million, China Life (2628.HK) with HK$62.27 million.
