LONDON (Dow Jones)--U.K. food, clothing and homeware retailer Marks & Spencer Group PLC (MKS.LN) is unlikely to be in a position to name its next chairman by its target date of July's annual meeting, the Financial Times reported Saturday, citing people familiar with the situation. The newspaper said the retailer, which this year appointed former William Morrison Supermarkets PLC's (MRW.LN) boss Marc Bolland as its new chief executive, has drawn up a short list to replace Sir Stuart Rose as chairman. But it said people familiar with the situation said it was "doubtful" whether the board would agree upon the final choice in the next month. Instead, the retailer is aiming to have the choice finalized by September, the FT reported.
