KAZ Minerals reports fire at northern Kazakhstan project

(ShareCast News) - KAZ Minerals said on Friday that a fire occurred overnight in the grinding area of the contractor building at its Bozshakol project in northern Kazakhstan.The company, which focuses on high-growth copper on large scale, low cost open pit mining in Kazakhstan, said the fire has been extinguished and there were no casualties reported."Further information will be released as appropriate when the extent of damage has been assessed," it said.At 1054 BST, shares were down 0.3% at 153.60p.
