Hiscox forecasts rise in Syndicate 33 capacity in 2014

Specialist insurer Hiscox said it sees capacity in its Syndicate 33 rising in 2014.The Lloyd's of London insurer said at this early stage it expected the syndicate to underwrite up to £1bn next year, up from £950m for 2013.It will submit a final plan to Lloyd's later in the year which will depend on the US hurricane season. Hiscox also gave a forecast for another syndicate - number 6104 - which it manages on behalf of third party capital providers. It said it was targeting a 2014 capacity of £66m unchanged on this year.TB
