(Sharecast News) - Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust reported on Wednesday that Alex Barr had been appointed as a senior manager, to work alongside James de Bunsen and Peter Webster.The London-listed firm said its manager, Janus Henderson Investors, had appointed Alex Barr to join its UK multi-asset and alternatives team in London, to start in July.Barr would be co-manager on a number of Janus Henderson Multi-Asset Alternatives funds, including Henderson Alternative Strategies.He was joining from Aberdeen Standard Investment Management, where he was global head of private markets and real estate investment oversight.Barr had 26 years of experience in financial markets, specialising in alternative assets, and also held the role of head of private equity at Aberdeen Asset Management and lead manager of Aberdeen Private Equity Fund."We are delighted that someone of Alex's calibre and seniority will be joining our portfolio management team," said Henderson Alternative Strategies chairman Richard Gubbins."The combination of Alex and our existing team of James de Bunsen and Peter Webster will be formidable and positions us well for the future."The board said it would provide a full update on the company's performance at the time of the results announcement for the 18 month period ended 31 March, which would be released in the week commencing 17 June.
