(Sharecast News) - Haydale announced a new partnership on Tuesday with Petronas Technology Ventures (PTVSB), the technology commercialisation subsidiary of Malaysia's state energy firm Petronas, aimed at harnessing the potential of graphene for a number of product applications.

The AIM-traded firm said the joint initiative was geared towards fast-tracking the commercial adoption of graphene-based formulations across multiple sectors.

Spanning until the end of 2025, the collaboration agreement promised to push the boundaries of graphene use, focusing on its potential integration into battery cells, composites, coatings, and thermal materials, among others.

"Haydale is delighted to have signed a collaboration with Petronas that cements our commitment to working together on developing innovative solutions and driving progress in the commercialisation of graphene and advanced materials use in the energy industry," said chief executive officer Keith Broadbent.

"Our expertise in nanomaterials and our functionalisation technology compliments Petronas' commitment to sustainability and safeguarding the environment and I am confident that this strategic collaboration will be mutually beneficial and greatly accelerate the commercial adoption of functionalised graphene and other 2D materials."

At 1118 BST, shares in Haydale Graphene Industries were down 2.93% at 1p.
