Havelock Europa's hunt for a new chief executive is over after the shopfitter and point of sale printing group picked rail man Eric Prescott to run the business.Prescott used to be UK president and managing director of rail group Alstom Transport and managing director of Balfour Beatty Rail infrastructure services. He'll start his new job on Monday, replacing interim boss David Hurcomb who kept the seat warm after the departure of Hew Balfour in March. The 53-year-old's last job was heading charity and campaign group Leonard Cheshire Disability. He resigned in May after 18 months in charge following a bust-up with directors. It's said there was opposition to Prescott's tough cost-cutting measures.
