Gulf Keystone Petroleum said commercial production at its Shaikan field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq had restarted.The oil and gas exploration company is moving into large-scale development of the Shaikan field. It reiterated that it intended to ramp-up production from the first Shaikan production facility to 20,000 barrels of oil per day while it finished the building and commissioning of the second Shaikan production facility. It is hoping that the Shaikan field will be producing 150,000 barrels of oil per day within three years.TB
