LONDON (Dow Jones)--Griffin Mining Ltd (GFM.LN), a mining and exploration, said Monday that in the first half of 2010 record zinc, gold and silver production had been achieved. MAIN FACTS: -260,317 tons of ore had been processed at Griffin's Caijiaying zinc gold mine in Northern China in the six months to June 30, compared with 81,281 tons of ore in the first six months of 2009 (when operations were suspended), to produce 15,101 tons of zinc metal in concentrate (2009 3,243 tons), 4,570 ounces gold (2009 617 ounces), 105,475 ounces silver (2009 20,003 ounces) and 441 tons of lead (2009 144 tons). -Caijiaying continued to perform at or above expectations and, with the production upgrade to be completed in early August, production and financial results are expected to improve even further. -Shares at 0931 GMT up 0.5 pence, or 1.2%, at 41.5 pence. -By Iain Packham, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9269; [email protected] (END) Dow Jones Newswires July 12, 2010 05:33 ET (09:33 GMT)
