GMT Puts DOCUgroup Up For Sale; Hires Hawkpoint - Sources

By Marietta Cauchi and Jessica Hodgson Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES LONDON (Dow Jones)--GMT Communications Partners Ltd. has put its portfolio company DOCUgroup up for sale and hired boutique adviser Hawkpoint to run the auction process, people familiar with the situation told Dow Jones Newswires Thursday. DOCUgroup is a business-to-business and database company for the construction industry with operations in Germany, Switzerland and the Nordic markets as well as across Central and Eastern Europe. GMT bought DOCUgroup in July 2004 and built on to the business with a series of acquisitions, most recently the Nordic assets of Reed Business Information, part of Anglo-Dutch Reed Elsevier PLC (RUK). One person said DOCUgroup was valued at approximately EUR250 million. Hawkpoint couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
