(Sharecast News) - Gfinity confirmed on Thursday that it will be the primary consulting and programme management partner for the inaugural Esports Wega World Cup alongside Truxton Capital.The esports solutions provider's first responsibility is to design and develop a global online and offline tournament format which is targeted to kick off in early 2020, while also planning and delivering a launch event to be held before the end of this year, alongside an annual esports festival.While no specific games have been selected for the tournament so far, another of Gfinity's responsibilities is to engage with publishers across a wide range of game genres in order to find exclusive partners, as well as managing the tournament's commercial and media rights, advising on marketing strategy and engaging with third parties.Garry Cook, executive chairman of Gfinity, said: "To have been chosen as the global strategic partner and a consultant to help deliver this bold and ambitious project is another big step forward for Gfinity.
