(ShareCast News) - Gfinity, an AIM listed leading eSports promoter, has been selected as Microsoft's event partner for the 2017 Halo World championship events in Europe and Latin America. The championship is the company's second event planning gig with Microsoft, after it was asked to organise events in London, Paris and Mexico City for the Gears of War eSports Pro Circuit in 2016/17.The EU Halo World Championship will take place between 17-19 February 2017 in London. It will involve teams competing for a share of the $25,000 prize pot for two qualifying places for the finals with a prize pool of $1m.The Latin America event will take place in Mexico City from 24-26 February 2017 with a $20,000 prize pool and one place at the finals.Chief executive Neville Upton said: "As we continue to cement Gfinity's reputation within the thriving eSports industry, Microsoft's continued commitment to work with Gfinity is further testament to our team's world-class capability to deliver the best experiences for title holders and fans."Gfinity's share price rose 5.66% to 14p at 1440 GMT on Monday.
