Galliford Try has won construction and facilities management contracts for two secondary schools in Scotland. The FTSE 250 housebuilding and construction group said the appointment by hub South East Scotland as preferred contractor was worth £48m in total, while the facilities management award was expected to be worth up to a further £17m over 25 years.Following financial close in 2014, the group's Scottish business, Morrison Construction, will undertake construction of the new Kelso High School in the Scottish Borders and Newbattle Community High School, Midlothian, with completion of construction expected in 2016.Once up and running, Galliford Try's Facilities Management arm will provide ongoing hard facilities maintenance and lifecycle management to both schools.
