(Sharecast News) - UK pub chain Fuller Smith & Turner on Thursday warned that rail strikes would hit sales by more than £5m this year.

Like-for-like sales in the first 10 weeks of this fiscal year 10 were up 13.9% year on year, the company said.

National rail strikes at the end of last year and at the start of 2023 have hit footfall at city-based pubs and restaurants.

"The train and tube strikes were particularly detrimental in Central London, where a significant proportion of our estate is situated, with commuters choosing to work from home," the company said in a statement.
