(Sharecast News) - Engineering services firm Fulcrum Utility Services has been awarded a new £4.9m multi-utility infrastructure contract by an unnamed client.

Fulcrum Utility said on Wednesday that under the £4.9m contract, the group will design and install a high voltage primary substation and the electricity, water, and gas infrastructure to energise and power the new development in the West Midlands.

The infrastructure will be delivered over 14 months and will mark the first phase of the project.

Chief executive Terry Dugdale said: "We're delighted to be playing such a crucial role in this major new development.

"This is a significant project that is helping to set the standard for future industrial and commercial developments, and we've worked closely with our client to design a complete and future-proofed multi-utility solution."

As of 1020 BST, Fulcrum shares were up 5.61% at 32.74p.
