FTSE 250 movers: Trinity Mirror jumps as trends improve

Shares in Trinity Mirror, which publishes the Mirror Newspaper and a host of local titles, jumped after said it is seeing an improvement in the rate of revenue decline and positive effects from its cost-cutting initiatives.Trinity is joined near the top of the FTSE 250 by Galiform. The joinery firm took another step on the road to recovery Thursday when it said full year profit before tax will be at or above the top end of market expectations.Aircraft services group BBA Aviation is flying high after it said its performance since July 1 has been in line with expectations despite the difficult trading environment. It said signs of stabilisation have continued, with month-on-month flight activity improving.Engineering IT systems provider Aveva revealed a decline in half year profit and said it remains cautious on the outlook for 2010., but the shares are among the top 10 risers in the mid-cap index.On the downside, investors have been unimpressed by interim results from Dairy Crest. The milk, butter and cheese group reported a rise in profits in the six months to September 30 as cost-cutting measures and higher sales of spreads helped offset a decline in lower margin activities such as milk deliveries.
