Tate & Lyle is the best performer on the FTSE 250. Yesterday, the food ingredients group had its target price raised by 8% by UBS.The share price of property regeneration specialist St. Modwen Properties has been boosted after it revealed that half-year results should come in at the top end of management (and consensus) expectations, "both in terms of profit and net asset value growth." Also making gains is Finland-focused nickel and zinc miner Talvivaara after it purchased an additional 4% shareholding in its operating subsidiary, Talvivaara Sotkamo, for €60m. An initial assessment of the recently-purchased Booysendal South property has led Aquarius Platinum to raise its production expectations at its Everest mine in South Africa. Shares are edging higher.Finance specialist Intermediate Capital said annual pre-tax profit rose 76% after a marked improvement in the performance of its investments.
