FTSE 250 movers: Supergroup hit by Burberry comments

Supergroup shares took a significant hit after luxury brand Burberry's Chief Executive Officer Angela Ahrendts told French newspaper Les Echos that the slowdown in China may be more than temporary; in fact, it could be the new reality. SuperGroup said back in July that China represents an "exciting opportunity" for its e-commerce business. Meanwhile, Xi Jinping, China's President, said that while his country's economic growth rate of 7% was "reasonable", he believed the global economic recovery was likely to be a "long and tortuous process". UK food producer Cranswick also fell, despite a 15% increase in total sales in the first half, as it warned that pig prices reached a record high during the period.
