Instrumentation and controls specialist Spectris had a cracking final two months of 2010, with operating profits higher than expected. The Test and Measurement business stood out during November and December, contributing "substantially" to the improvement, although all four divisions exceeded targets. Results for the year ending 31 December, out on 25 February, are expected to show adjusted operating profit of around £140m.Currys and PC World owner Dixons is still higher after yesterday's trading update. Nomura has been prompted to downgrade the company's medium-term forecasts after poor Christmas trading, but still sees some upward potential in the share price and retains a 'buy' on the stock.Bovis Homes is higher after saying profits for 2010 will beat consensus estimates, good enough for the housebuilder to begin paying dividends again.
