FTSE 250 movers: Kaz rides copper's rise, Credit Suisse lifts Aveva target

(ShareCast News) - The FTSE 250 index fought back from early losses to finish in positive territory on Monday, up 0.21% to 16,842.52 points with miners to the fore.Copper miner Kaz Minerals, like its FTSE 100 copper peer Antofagasta was lifted by improving sentiment in the orange metal.Euromoney was up 4% despite a note by analysts at Exane on parent company DMGT that highlighted the "challenging times ahead" for the business publishing and events business. Euromoney's stellar track record is under pressure heading into 2016, the broker said."We expect challenges from further cyclical headwinds in commodities, a change in management bringing reinvestment risk, exacerbated by the likely failure to achieve 2017 CAP scheme targets."Aveva was boosted more conventionally, with an increase in Credit Suisse's target price for the shares due to the market's slowness to appreciate the sensible deal with Schneider Electric to create a market leading industrial software asset. "We think the deal improves the technology offering and creates stronger, more balanced revenue diversity," analysts wrote, upgrading the target price to 2,800p and reiterating their 'outperform' rating.Perennially volatile platinum miner Lonmin was the exception to the rule of mining movers on Monday.Second biggest faller was Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment, extending Friday's declines. On Thursday, AIM-listed GVC Holdings trumped rival 888 Holdings in the battle for online gambling peer Bwin. Bwin agreed to an offer of 25p in cash and 0.231 new GVC shares, which values the company at around 129.64p per share or £1.12bn, a 12.5% premium to the closing price of Bwin on 3 September and a 45% premium to the closing price of Bwin on 14 May.
