Investors bet that ITV is turning the corner as the broadcaster said it's set to end an 18-month slump in advertising revenue by reporting a 4% rise in December. The firm said trading in the UK television advertising market continued to improve in the fourth quarter. It hasn't reported a year-on-year increase in ad revenues since June 2008.But there was no news on a replacement for outgoing chairman Michael Grade, with some big names having already ruled themselves out of the running.Worst of the mid-caps was residential property specialist Grainger. It's tapping shareholders for £250m via a 2 for 1 rights issue at 90p a share. Grainger posted a loss before tax of £170m (2008: £112m) in the half year to September, largely derived from valuation deficits, mark to market adjustments and non-recurring items Pharmaceuticals developer BTG also fell despite a sharp rise in revenues from £30.2m to £47.9m in the six months to September as profit fell to £2.4m from £3.4m.
