International Personal Finance saw shares surge on Tuesday after the Eastern Europe- and South America-focused home credit business reported a record first-half profit before tax of 42.3m pounds, up 35 per cent on last year. The company also pleased investors to return 60m pounds via a share buyback.TV and broadband technology firm Pace also impressed with its interim report, as it lifted its full-year profit guidance after a strong first half. The firm also raised its interim dividend by 27.1%.Elementis was making impressive gains after the specialty chemicals business reported a "resilient" first-half performance in the face of tough comparatives (record earnings the year before) and a planned maintenance shutdown at its Chromium division.Publishing and events firm Informa meanwhile gave a positive outlook after a strong first half, saying that the sale of its non-core Corporate Training activities leaves it well placed for the future.Better-than-expected guidance for first-half earnings at paper and packaging group Mondi was also welcomed by the market today as the company said that it now predicts first-half underlying earnings per share to rise by 48-65%.Heading the other way was pizza delivery chain Domino's Pizza which slumped despite reporting in-line headline figures for its first half, as the company pushed back its breakeven target for its German business from 2015 to 2016-2017. Tullett Prebon, the electronic and voice interdealer broker, fell after revealing a slight decline in both revenue and profit in the first half. While the firm has seen some recent pickup in financial market activity, it said it "would be prudent to expect that market conditions will continue to be challenging".FTSE 250 - RisersInternational Personal Finance (IPF) 646.50p +14.42%Pace (PIC) 309.50p +11.45%Elementis (ELM) 252.00p +8.39%Informa (INF) 528.50p +5.49%Mondi (MNDI) 969.00p +5.33%Bwin.party Digital Entertainment (BPTY) 135.80p +3.82%Provident Financial (PFG) 1,689.00p +3.30%Capital & Counties Properties (CAPC) 355.70p +2.86%FirstGroup (FGP) 99.40p +2.85%Rightmove (RMV) 2,317.00p +2.70%FTSE 250 - FallersDomino's Pizza Group (DOM) 539.00p -10.17%Telecity Group (TCY) 923.50p -6.43%Tullett Prebon (TLPR) 323.10p -6.21%African Barrick Gold (ABG) 109.70p -6.08%Wetherspoon (J.D.)
