Leaping into the top spot was Fenner, the polymers company, which has gained 4.5% after announcing that first quarter profitability is significantly better than the comparable period of 2010.Following very close behind, recruitment company Michael Page said fourth quarter gross profit slowed to 13% as uncertainty surrounding the Eurozone caused many hiring decisions to be delayed or cancelled.The recruiter reported a 13.4% rise in fourth-quarter gross profit to £135.9m from the same period a year earlier. Asia Pacific saw strong profit growth in the fourth quarter, with gross profit up 23.3%. Full year gross profit increased 25.2% to £553.7m. Moneysupermarket.com was also on the up after it was able to accelerate revenue growth in the fourth quarter with the board now expecting year-on-year sales to rise by 20%.When the price comparison website firm reveals its full-year results next month, it expects to report sales of £178m for the 12 months to December 31st, up from £148.9m the year before. Meanwhile, sitting in the bottom spot was internet and catalogue home shopping specialist N. Brown, which said trading picked up in December after flat performance in October and November.Total group revenue in the 19 weeks to January 7th increased by 2.3% from a year earlier, while like-for-like revenue, which excludes sales from new stores, rose 2.0%.
