FTSE 100 movers: Vodafone rallies; Aviva goes ex-dividend

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was up 0.7% at 10,827.02 in afternoon trade on Thursday.

Vodafone was among the risers after it announced the launch of a new TV service to rival the likes of Sky and Virgin. Vodafone TV will bring streaming, live TV, gaming and apps together in one entertainment hub.

The new TV service, which launches next month, comes with Netflix and HBO Max included, with options to add other streaming favourites too.

The company also announced a new improved mobile offering called Vodafone SuperMobile.

Miners Glencore and Anglo American also gained as copper prices rose, while Aviva and Admiral both fell as they traded without entitlement to the dividend.
