FTSE 100 movers: Segro gains after update; Abrdn in the red

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was up 0.4% at 10,773.69 in afternoon trade on Wednesday.

Segro was among the gainers after saying it had continued to perform well in the third quarter, with £70m of new headline rent contracted year to date, up 32% on the previous year.

Abrdn was under the cosh despite posting a rise in third-quarter assets under management and administration, reflecting positive markets and acquisitions.

AUMA rose 4% from the previous quarter to £578.9bn. Aberdeen hailed continued strong growth in Interactive Investor, with Q3 net inflows up 32% year-on-year to £2.5bn, while year-to-date net inflows rose 58% to £9.3bn.

Total customers at ii were up 8% to 533,000 and SIPP customers rose 34% to 131,000. Customer engagement has also been strong, the company said, with trading activity well above last year's average, albeit lower than the elevated levels earlier this year.

Precious metals miner Fresnillo lost its shine as it reported a drop in third-quarter silver and gold production but maintained its full-year guidance.

LSEG was also in the red ahead of a trading update on Thursday.
